Cheapest Petrol in the World
Motorists in Venezuela can afford to buy gas guzzlers because you can buy petrol for only 2 pence per litre. Yes, two (2) pence.
This means that you could fill up a new Ford Mondeo in Venezuela for what a litre costs in the UK, and probably have change.
Although it seems like Britons are being ripped off at the fuel pumps, we don’t pay the highest prices for petrol. In Oslo, Norway, drivers pay an average of 30p more than we do in the UK per litre.
Not far behind Venezuela is Saudi Arabia, where locals pay 8p per litre, a country that holds a quarter of the world’s oil reserves.
The most hard done by country is Turkmenistan, where they pay a hefty 12p per litre (yes, that was sarcasm), but that’s off-set by the 120 litres of free fuel per month….
Here is the top ten list of the cheapest places for petrol.
Caracas, Venezuela: 2p per litre (average)
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: 8p per litre
Tripoli, Libya: 9p per litre
Ashgabat, Turkmenistan: 2p per litre
Manama, Bahrain: 13p per litre
Kuwait City, Kuwait: 14p per litre
Doha, Qatar: 15p per litre
Cairo, Egypt: 19p per litre
Muscat, Oman: 20p per litre
Algiers, Algeria: 20p per litre
You could probably import fuel from Venezuela and it will still be cheaper than the UK.
